Will installing a bidirectional charger increase my home value?
We're starting to see data that supports this.
While hard data is still emerging in this newer industry, early signs suggest that homes with EV charging infrastructure—and especially those with bidirectional capabilities—are becoming more attractive to buyers. A 2022 Zillow study showed that homes with improved resilience during a climate disaster (i.e.--home backup that is offered through our programs) increased selling price by 2.4% and that those with eco-conscious amenities such as an EV charger sold 10 days more quickly than other listings.
Additionally, multiple studies have shown increases in home value with proximity to charging infrastructure, and commercial real estate prices have also been documented to rise.
