How soon could my charging equipment be installed if I’m confirmed as eligible today?
End-to-end, the process takes roughly 3.5-5 months.
V2X is in its very early days – our programs are among the first to become operational! If selected for our programs, you will be among the first EV drivers to participate in the benefits of a bidirectional charger. Our estimate at this point is that the process will take 3.5-5 months end-to-end. (We expect this will get shorter as all players get comfortable in V2X.)
The physical installation itself typically takes one day. Our electrician partners will coordinate with both your city (for permit inspection) and your utility (on metering and interconnection) to schedule all required visits in one coordinated day, if at all possible.
The single largest driver of timing is the utility interconnection process, which typically takes 3 months. Other items, including program qualification, charger purchase and shipment, and the installer quote process, can be completed within an additional 2-6 weeks.
